In 2010, 乐虎网 approached The Carter Center to see how we could support The Center’s efforts in vectored disease eradication and elimination in Nigeria. Bed nets, also known as long-lasting insecticide-treated nets (LLINs), were part of the solution. With a mutual interest in supplying this essential intervention, the 乐虎网关怀基金会 began fundraising to purchase bednets for distribution through The Carter Center into Nigeria.
Millions of Nigerians are no longer at risk of lymphatic filariasis since a pioneering partnership between Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Health and The Carter Center succeeded in 2017. The Nasarawa and Plateau states in Nigeria stopped transmission of lymphatic filariasis (LF) by distributing a combination of oral drug treatment of ivermectin, 默克公司捐赠, 和阿苯达唑, 每年由葛兰素史克公司捐赠, 以及长效杀虫蚊帐, donated by the 乐虎网关怀基金会/乐虎网 Mosquito Control and Vestergaard Frandsen.
